Protective Bonds is the key to the success of this build. When you have 16 Protection Prayers and a 20% chance of casting with +1 more...(i.e. equalling 17 protection prayers) then you can get Protective Bond to the point where it only costs one energy to reduce the amount of dmg you take. If they changed that to where at 17 it would require 2 (like it does for 16) then the 105 smiter monk would actually be seriously detrimented. Probably to the point of no longer being effective at soloing in UW.

I'm glad there's finally a good way for someone to make good money. Unfortunatly, it's only one very specific template. It's a bunch of BS if you ask me. They need to nerf the 105 smiter and increase gold on drops by x3 at least across the entire game.
0 energy regen works just fine, just bring blessed signet. What bonneti's doesn't give, blessed signet will.

Er, the problem is, you lose Bonetti's the moment you use any skill at all. So, sure, you get your energy recharged while dodging, but the moment you use any skill, the Bonetti goes away, and you're left having to build up enough adrenaline to make use of it again.

This means, if you're not a warrior primary (but a warrior secondary), you're stuck not doing any significant damage or supporting anyone, and just sort of hoping that some monster will attempt to hit you enough times for your energy to rebuild, before you can use it. Oh, and all of that within the perhaps 8 seconds or so that the stance is in effect. And, you probably won't build up adrenaline as fast as a warrior anyway.

If you are a warrior primary, it means you can smack away at your current foe for a little while, building up your adrenaline and energy for a little bit, but you can't actually use any of your skills if you want the energy to build up... and you sort of have to hope that anyone is attacking you anyway... which is kind of a trick, since the monsters often like the taste of squishy meat better.

Then, consider that warrior primaries don't have a lot of energy pips (usually just 2), or a lot of energy (probably 20). After four dodges, they're recharged... but then when you use the various skills that might knock your energy back down to 0 again, you have to build enough adrenaline to run bonetti's again, since you lost the stance by using the various skills.

I disagree that it's overpowered. It is very useful, despite the limitations I've noted, but not quite that powerful.

because if it isnt a fact then all your waffling is for nought.

all you seem fixated on is farming.
if you wanna farm go alone or take hench.

you DO not infiltrate a group and bugger off on your own.

its a game...not a means to extend ego`s at others expense.

Its the kind of thing you use in pve, while wearing gladiator's armor (~25 energy depending on overal setup) and only use it to power your non-warrior skills to improve survivability in some way or another. Even so, its still only viable against melee attacks, so its still very limited versus what will actually yeild a gain. This is opposed to other skill combinations like "victory is mine", which can easily be an energy engine comparable to ether renewal builds due to the scale in energy pools involved.

Bascially its rather useless as an energy engine towards a warrior, but it is nice due to the non-existant refresh timer and being linked to adrenalin instead. This would be similar to taking a elementalist secondary and use glyph of energy to power your spells making them cost 5 energy, sometimes 10, instead of whatever they would normally cost. I do find it strange that there are no 20 energy skills and that it just jumps to 25 from 15 though.
